We create exquisite cultural and leisure spaces with a perfect mix of timelessness and innovation. Our multi-disciplinary approach harnesses the exceptional properties of wood – natural beauty, warmth and endurance – to transform spaces into cultural treasures that will bring people together for generations. This is joinery at its finest, as our award-winning projects attest.
Case studies
01
The Hickman, London
In the entrance to this smart and sustainable managed office space, we completed the fit-out of a café area to a high specification. This included kitchen furniture with a blackened metal wrap, decorative concrete worktops and surfaces, banquette seating, display furniture and window bars and seating, creating a versatile and uplifting space for a mix of uses. We provided the technical design input required to achieve the complex blackened metal kitchen finishes, and coordinated with specialist concrete suppliers to ensure timeliness and cohesion.

Grainhouse, Covent Garden
Grainhouse is a former Victorian seed warehouse in Covent Garden that has been transformed into a sophisticated prime office and retail scheme, designed and built by Knight Harwood and architect Barr Gazetas for Hines UK. The centrepiece of the development is a double flight helical feature staircase. Working as supply chain partner for Alpine Group, who specialise in delivering comprehensive turnkey solutions for feature staircases, we worked closely with Alpine Group to design and coordinate the finishes and execute the delivery of the joinery to clad the two flights of the steel helical structure and the curved components that form the surrounding fire curtain panelling and oak finishes for the feature Barisol lighting. The result was a technical and aesthetic triumph for a striking and visually coherent focal point.
“Their commercial processes are transparent as well as timely. Significantly the manufacture of their Joinery, attention to detail, combined with superior finishes ensures best value for our customers. We would be delighted to recommend NBJ to prospective clients and will be engaging their services for future contracts.”
