St Paul’s Cathedral, London

Alongside Caroe Architecture and Sir Robert McAlpine Special Projects, we carried out the technical design, supply and installation for all joinery finishes to clad the structure of the Remember Me Covid-19 memorial in the Inner Portico at St Paul’s Cathedral. This tribute to those who died during the pandemic was the first major change and the first structure of its kind to be built in the cathedral in nearly 150 years. All joinery used English Oak sourced from homegrown oak specialist Whippletree Hardwoods. Our team navigated significant challenges – daily worship and events, access issues, noise constraints, Covid restrictions and a tight six-month timeframe – to deliver on schedule, creating a powerful legacy for generations to come.

Inner Temple, London

We worked on the development of the Inner Temple’s new library and educational facilities, part of the building's first major works since its reconstruction following damage during the Second World War. The project, our largest to date, included the complex refurbishment of the existing second-floor library (including complete removal, extensive adaptions, re-finishing and reinstatement), new library bookcases, solid-oak slatted panelling in the auditorium, refurbishment of over a hundred sash windows and new joinery/cabinetry and internal doorsets (including a large number of fire doorsets) throughout. Being an integral part of the design development process helped us to balance heritage detailing with highly technical modern functions. And when it came to removing, refurbishing, adapting, refinishing and reinstating the second-floor library, the client said it looked as if it had left the building!!

“The standard of the workmanship was exemplary, and has drawn favourable comments from a wide range of visitors and stakeholders. It was a pleasure to work with Neil and his team and experience their evident pride in what they do. They are a deservedly thriving business at the top of their game.”
