Case studies

01

Private Residence, St John’s Wood

At this Grade II listed villa in St. Johns Wood, we worked to concept designs by SHH Architects that married the historic features of the property with contemporary cabinetry, incorporating an array of specialist finishes. We completed full cabinetry installations in the main house and the adjacent mews house. This included dramatic high-gloss cabinets with intricate brass inlay, leatherwork, complex LED lighting configurations, and the coordination of marble tops for the bathroom joinery.

02

Private Residence, Surrey

We worked with SHH Architects to realise the client’s unique vision for their home in the home counties – a vibrantly creative space that is characterful yet contemporary, reflecting the owners' passions and lifestyle. We completed the full joinery fit-out, including cabinetry, internal doors throughout, a contemporary feature staircase and integrated special finishes. This included leatherwork, upholstery and a wide variety of marbles, architectural metalwork and carvings.

03

Private Pied-à-Terre, Mayfair

At a recently completed home within a new building in Mayfair, we worked to designs by Studio Ashby to manufacture and install kitchen and pantry units. The highly specialist finishes and materials evoked a restrained yet soothing sense of calm and permanence for the family who occupy the space for part of the year. We finished kitchen cabinetry in a bleached poplar burr with solid brass handles integrated into the units and created a carved oak island. Close coordination between ourselves, the main contractor and marble and stone specialists allowed for the seamless fitting of lavastone tops on the units as the project completed.

04

Arragon Mooar, Isle Of Man

Following our work on the Taylor Library at Corpus Christi, we continued our relationship with the library’s namesake and primary benefactor to join their journey of building an ambitious and eccentric home on the Isle of Man. This breathtaking property has been described as 'the most complicated house ever built’: an elliptical building that melded the traditions of 16th-century architect Palladio with the Georgian country houses of Robert Adam – but in a new and modern way. We carried out the full joinery fit-out, including in the oval library and the main hall, which houses the Dragon Chronophage clock (with the sister clock at Corpus Christi).

“We were particularly impressed with NBJ’s proficiency, with the quality of finishing and attention to detail. We would gladly work with NBJ again on future projects.”
